Hi there, I honestly can't believe that the last time I updated this journal was at the end of last May. I was drawing more back then and I was feeling pretty optimistic. Unfortunately about a month after posting that, I got my wisdom teeth out. The actual extraction/surgery was a piece of cake but my mouth got infected despite my best efforts.  I then had what felt like endless dentist visits filled with lots of antibiotics. I got my teeth out in my hometown, not in Toronto where I currently live, so there was a lot of traveling involved to see my dentist, and needless to say, my arts practice was neglected. For someone who walks to and from work, you'd think I'd make a habit of checking the weather. Today I got caught out in the rain without an umbrella, raincoat, rain boots, or even a sweater with a hood. Needless to say, I got soaked during my walk home tonight. Normally I am like a cat in the rain: absolutely miserable. However, today I felt refreshed and very relaxed by the rain. Maybe I could feel so calm in the rain because I knew I had a warm, dry apartment waiting for me with warm, dry clothes. Or maybe it was because I wasn't cold despite being drenched; maybe all it took was that little bit of warmth to shift my feelings of being caugh
